Summer of Purpose

June 20th – September 2nd

The Summer of Purpose is to provide you with a framework to ask yourself, #whatsyourpupose? What are you doing in your life to improve your health and wellness? While we push our minds and bodies in our challenges, we can share the “What” and the “Why” we do what we do.

Fundraising and Volunteering

This is the Purpose of our event, the heart, if you will, and we are trying to double our fundraising from last year by reaching $20,000!!! This is a HUGE ask and will take everyone to help us hit our goal, but I think we CAN do it! In addition to fundraising, this year we will be supporting Ulman through in person volunteering as well, stay tuned for dates!

This year we have set some milestones for each of the categories (see below) and reaching these milestones will get you entered into a prize drawing. If you win that drawing you can choose from that prize tier. If you do NOT win, then your name stays in the running for the next drawing. For each tier you will be added to the prize drawing bucket! You do NOT have to be an ATS employee to win prizes this year!!! I will also say, that while our prizes are still nice, they are less generous than last year, to keep our focus on the donations and increase participation. We encourage anyone who wants to share to tag your posts with our #summerofpurpose #whatsyourpurpose as you run, walk, bike, swim, yoga, paddle, and FUNDRAISE your way through the summer.

Here is how you can help:

  1. Sign-up to participate. There is no cost, and you’ll be included in all our fun events throughout the summer and each one will contribute to the fund.
  2. Set-up a fundraising page and share with your family and friends. You don’t have to ask a lot, just an email to your family and friends, or a post on your socials will likely be enough to raise the minimum amount of $100!
  3. Encourage others to join – this is hosted by ATS but open to everyone! The more participants, the greater our fundraising pool.
  4. Use your ATS Charitable Match!! We’ve included the form as an attachment and in the address line just put – Direct Donation to: (enter participant you want it to go to, or the general fund) *hint: I’d recommend you send the match to your own fundraising page. 😊
  5. Offer to help organize, or manage, some of our events we are currently planning! Candace and I can use all the help we can get.
  6. Volunteer to help reach out to local businesses to donate prizes for the cause! Gift cards, clothing, free passes, etc. We are working with Ulman to provide donation receipts for tax purposes.

Calendar of Events

We are also looking to add special events at local fitness studios, yoga, spin, etc. and each of these will be open to the public, but ATS employees will be able to sign up and we will pay your entrance! The proceeds from these events will be contributed to our overall fundraising pool. We continue to look for partners but already our friends at Homegrown Power Yoga (HPY), and Trails End Cycling have offered to host an event (stay tuned for details).

You must be signed up for the program to get the invite to these events. We will use RunSignups email system only going forward.

  • We will include all events on the ATS intranet and in Dave’s monthly update, but to be considerate of those that don’t want to be bombarded with emails we will not be using ATS email for this event after this kickoff email.
  • Fundraising is open now and the activities start tracking on 6/20 and go through 9/2 (Labor Day)!

How to sign up:

Please go to the RunSignup registration page.  Fill out your required personal information and agree to the waiver. On the next page, it will prompt you to either donate to an existing fundraiser or to “Become a Fundraiser”. We encourage you to set up your fundraiser now as you register, but you will be able to create one at any time throughout the summer. If you choose to not create one at registration, go ahead and click “Continue”. This should bring you to the final page of registration where you should see an option for a $100 donation to Ulman. In order to be eligible for prizes, you need to fundraise or donate a minimum of $100… this donation would make you eligible 😊, but it is not required to participate! You can choose to donate at any point during the event.

*Important: Please select YES to receiving emails when you sign up because all of our updates will go through RunSignup and if choose “NO” you will not get event updates.

Events and Milestones

Here are the categories included in this years’ event along with their milestones. As you hit milestones, you will be eligible for select, bi-weekly prize drawings. The more milestones you hit, the more likely you are to win a prize!  Fundraising is open NOW but the official event and activities start June 20th and ends on Labor Day (September 2nd).

  • Yoga: Ten – 30 minutes or longer Yoga sessions, 20 – 30 minutes or longer Yoga sessions,  30 – 30 minutes or longer Yoga sessions
  • Running: 50 miles, 150 miles, 250 miles+
  • Walking: 50 miles, 100 miles, 200+ miles
  • Biking: 200 miles, 400 miles, 600+ miles,
  • Paddle/Row: 10 miles, 30 miles, 50+ miles
  • Swimming: 5 miles, 15 miles, 25 miles+
  • Fundraising: $500, $1,000, $2,000, $4,000
  • Wellness/Fundraising/Ulman Volunteer Event Attendance: 2 Events, 3 Events, 5 Events
  • Recorded Activity 7 days in a row at least once

End of Summer Prizes:

  • Top person from each activity category
  • Top Fundraiser (1st and 2nd )
  • Most Event Attendance (Drawing if tied)
